COOL – MOJOSA
Like his name-sake in the holy Bible Sydney’s Esperanto Jonathan smites the Philistines * who reckon world peace is a Utopian absurdity in 2026. * Metaphorically in Australia!
In these terribly troublous times no greater validation of Zamenhof’s Interna Ideo (Internal Idea of World Peace) exists for now than to congress together internationally on a big scale multi-culturally, without interpreters, in locations as varied as Adelaide and Arusha with Russians and Ukrainians, with Chinese and Japanese, with Iranians and Israelis, whose national Esperanto administrations in all six instances cited are second to none and whose multifarious, multiracial ge-sam-ide-an-oj meet in such friendship and harmony as to astound all who investigate the Esperanto movement’s political and religious neutrality!

Great promo by Jonathan for attracting young people! Among the un-wisest of men am I for leaving the joys of fatherhood until 49 and now as an oldie I see my sons either at work already or about to start—–with time for well intentioned, altruistic movements like Esperanto.
Discussed May 10th at our get together in Adelaide in celebration of Trevor’s birthday: A couple of points came to mind vis-a-vis the importance of a language solution, not just for famous diplomats who once agian seem incapable of preventing a world war, but in regard to all our problems, while I was listening to Radio National’s broad-casters on Sunday morning as they aired, as if a fait accompli, that humanity is experiencing an irreversible societal collapse in tandem with an environmental collapse with similarities to cataclysms in the Bible
(1) The struggle or comparison between English and Esperanto may well be a modern version of David and Goliath. David successfully spread his religious beliefs and Goliath perished. When the American empire, along with Pax Americana, goes the way of all empires, the popularity enjoyed today by the English language may face the same scrutiny faced by the language of Tolstoy – who BTW eulogized Esperanto – at the sudden and unexpected demise of the USSR as witnessed in Red Square by yours truly gob-smacked in 1990 (sic).
(2) Look for instance to what the Esperanto community deals with so diplomatically and patiently, for example, at the UN, UNESCO and EU, in regard to liaising with highly educated and respected leaders and their multilingual staffers on a subject which, the record shows, ain’t exactly flavour of the month unless big wars are raging but which our children and grand kids will need when (or if) they recover from such a conflict. Under the rubric For a World for All Languages, without Linguistic Discrimination see the Universal Esperanto Association’s appeal to the United Nations Organization
