The Australian Esperanto Association (AEA)
announces an exciting event for the Australian Esperanto movement:
the launch of Rompitaj Labirintoj / Bung Mazes,
a book of poetry in Esperanto and English, published by AEA,
with the opening of an art exhibition by the author,
the famous Australian poet, Kit Kelen.

Sunday, 27 November, 2–5pm
at Shop-Gallery, 112 Glebe Point Road, Glebe, NSW

There will be two short launch speeches:
• one in English (by Jonathan Shaw), and
• one in Esperanto (by Jonathan Cooper, as vice president of AEA).

The poetry collection and art exhibition combine words and pictures, in an abstract meditation on the situation of refugees in today’s world. “Bung mazes” is what asylum seekers must navigate to find a new home in an unknown location.

Christopher (Kit) Kelen has had volumes of poetry published in ten languages other than English. Each book is uniquely created, with a translator or translators, for a specific audience. Rompitaj Labirintoj / Bung mazes has a special significance in Kit’s oeuvre because it is the first book he has written himself in a language other than English.
